Sora's Name

Sora's name is a Japanese kanji word that translates to sky. Being compared to Tetsuya Nomura's Final Fantasy heros, particularily Cloud (FFVII), Squall (FFVIII) and Tidus (FFX); they all have names that refers to the sky and the weather. Cloud are "clouds" (gloomy and dark ones to be exact), Squall is a type of storm and Tidus means the sun. Also their names were given due to their personality. In Sora's case, the sky can be either morning, night, twilight, etc; meaning he's more than just a kid who always happy-go-lucky. Sora is a very confident character, who has a pure heart and all, but he was brought into the darkness in his life time as well.

Sora grew up a lot throughout the Kingdom Hearts series. He still has that same quirky and oblivious character, but when the topic of his friends is present, he takes the situation seriously and will do nothing more, but do everything for them.
